There are 92 elements occurring in nature Of the 92 naturally occurring elements
About 25 are essential to life
Of these 25, four elements - oxygen (O), carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and nitrogen (N) -
make up about 96% of the human body, which is typical of most living matter
Calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sulfur (S), and a few other elements
account for the remaining 4%
